We understand the critical importance of non-disruptive construction, especially for residential care facilities. Our team successfully delivered a complete new floor for Residentie Vroonstalle using our lightweight, prefabricated timber-frame system, enabling rapid completion and ensuring optimal insulation, solar control, and ventilation, all while residents could comfortably remain in their homes.
Project Overview
To meet the growing needs of the Vulpia Vroonstalle nursing home, a brand-new floor was added to its existing buildings, significantly expanding the complex. This upward extension features various flats constructed with MBS's prefabricated timber-frame building elements. This system was specifically chosen for its lightweight properties, making it an ideal solution for adding an extra storey onto an existing structure without imposing undue stress.
A key advantage of this construction method was the minimal disruption it caused; on-site work was primarily limited to the assembly of the prefabricated elements, allowing the flats to be finished very quickly. Crucially, residents on the lower floors were not required to vacate their homes during the construction period and experienced no hindrance. During the design phase of this new upward extension, meticulous attention was paid to incorporating optimal insulation, solar control glass, and automatic ventilation systems, ensuring a comfortable and energy-efficient environment for its occupants.
