After years of advocacy by former cyclist Marc Wauters, the Zolder circuit is the new mecca of Belgian cycling with a state-of-the-art 'fast track' designed for international championships. This ambitious project sees a temporary association of contractors, Vanhout and Houben, working alongside MBS, which is supplying the crucial timber-frame facade elements.

Designed by Avapartners and DBV Architects, with study work by Sweco, the 250-meter track features wide curves engineered for high speeds, making it ideal for competitive attacking and record-breaking performances. It meets stringent UCI standards, qualifying it for European and World Championships. The expansive 15,000 m² sports complex primarily focuses on the cycling track, but also includes four central sports units for indoor activities like volleyball, basketball, and tennis. MBS is delivering prefabricated facade panels "just in time" to the site. These panels are produced in a controlled workshop environment, adhering to the strictest fire and environmental requirements. This use of industrially produced, prefabricated facades significantly reduces assembly time and costs, ensuring remarkable construction speed for this cutting-edge facility.
