We are incredibly proud to have built the Mosa-RT innovation centre, a truly future-forward educational space. Our commitment to full timber-frame prefabrication, combined with advanced 3D design, allowed us to deliver this complex, high-ceilinged building in record time, ensuring exceptional insulation, certified fire resistance, and superior acoustics—creating an ideal, healthy environment for tomorrow's innovators.
Project Overview
The Mosa-RT Campus in Maaseik, Belgium, has unveiled a new, distinctive building dubbed the "incubator for education." This innovation center is designed to be a versatile space for experiments, moving far beyond a typical school structure with its high-ceilinged areas that can be adapted to various lesson requirements.
The building was constructed entirely using timber-frame components, including walls, floors, and roofs, all prefabricated at MBS's production plant in Genk. The integration of 3D design and industrial production was crucial in preventing on-site errors, drastically reducing construction time, and avoiding costly failures. This dry construction technique, coupled with the high level of prefabrication, allowed interior finishing to commence immediately after the timber-frame components were erected, significantly contributing to a record delivery time. The prefabricated timber components ensure excellent insulation values. Furthermore, the certified fire-resistant timber-frame walls boast very high levels of airtightness, substantial insulating capacity, and much-enhanced acoustics—all essential for a comfortable, healthy, and legally compliant educational environment.
