Our ability to produce and assemble wind and watertight timber frame elements, complete with pre-installed windows and cladding, at a pace of five homes per week, showcases our commitment to making high-quality, eco-friendly construction fast, efficient, and affordable, while ensuring minimal disruption and low energy costs for future owners.
Project Overview
In the picturesque setting of Wolphaartsdijk, Zeeland (NL), near the marina of Lake Veere, 89 new holiday homes have been constructed. This project is a collaboration between MBS, a timber frame construction specialist, and contractor Van Roey.
For the second phase of this holiday park, MBS supplied wind and watertight holiday homes designed to accommodate 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 people. These homes feature exteriors finished with either wood or façade strips. The construction pace was impressive, with five homes being completed per week.
MBS's approach emphasizes sustainable, fast, and high-quality building at an affordable price. Their Genk factory operated at full capacity to flawlessly produce the timber frame elements, including pre-installed windows, doors, and wooden cladding. These elements were then assembled on-site in just one day per home, causing minimal disruption to Phase 1 of the park, which was already operational. This method fully met the client's desire for an ecological building approach with minimal environmental impact and rapid construction with minimal disturbance.
The homes are also well insulated, do not use fossil fuels, and fully comply with Dutch building codes, providing future owners with peace of mind regarding energy costs. Following MBS's on-site assembly, contractor Van Roey completed the roofing, installed utilities, and finished the interiors. MBS and Van Roey successfully aimed to fully complete all 89 homes by winter 2023.
