Roosevelt Construct

Sustainability and adaptability are at the core of our construction philosophy. For the Rooseveltplaats project, our team delivered a highly prefabricated timber-frame solution, complete with innovative brick-slip panels and pre-installed joinery. This approach ensured rapid construction with minimal disruption, while also creating a future-proof building designed for easy adaptation and excellent thermal performance.
Project Overview
The Rooseveltplaats project involved the construction of new student accommodation and apartments, where sustainability and a high degree of prefabrication were paramount from the very concept phase. This focus delivered several key benefits: exceptionally quick construction times, significantly reduced disruption for local residents, guaranteed quality, and a superior thermal envelope that is both air and watertight.
The building's timber-frame components were meticulously finished with a ventilated curtain-wall system, featuring innovative prefabricated brick-slip panels. The exterior joinery, including aluminum window casements, was expertly built into these timber-frame components, allowing them to be transported to the site in a fully finished state for rapid assembly. A unique aspect of the design is the inclusion of collapsible front walls. This innovative feature facilitates future alterations, meaning that if the building's purpose ever changes, it can be relatively easily dismantled and fitted with new front walls that meet the prevailing standards of that time, ensuring long-term adaptability.
